Mailograms | Keith Bates

I´ve been very surprised when I received an email from Keith Bates with a stamp and a mailogram especially for me and for free! My nickname and signature MOO as an artist is shown excellent and draws attention. It looks so great :)

Mailograms were new to me and I looked at Keith Bate´s website called Mailograms  to learn more about it. What a stunning collection of mailograms!

When I looked at the trash...

...I thought I´m a bit paranoid and Kurt Cobain´s quote "Just because you're paranoid don't mean they're not after you" came into my mind! Why? Because I´m surrounded by art all day long - and night too -  and sometimes I see art almost everywhere :)

 But it was no bluff!

I took a sheet of newspaper and picked it out. When I looked closer, I noticed that there were two images, one framed and the other one on stretched canvas.

I hurried back into the apartment to take a better view to my startling discovery. The pictures haven´t been a long time in the trash but their smell was more than awful - I gave them a shower ;)

That´s the first photo from the painting on warped stretched canvas. I couldn´t find any sign of the artist or something like that. It still needs time to dry and many breathes of fresh air ;)

During the shooting of photos I became aware of  the wrong position. That´s the basic one but I like my view at it much more!

In nature the glow is fascinating and I´ll keep this painting as a mojo, a mascot in my home.

The second picture is a framed poster, a bit damaged and mystically because of the motif. People with the power of penguins have an enormous social competence, without losing their own lives out of sight. Equality is for penguin people not just a slogan and they are denying hierarchies and reviews.

Sounds good...
...I´m pretty happy and feel confirmed by the saying
"Give and you will get".

Malerwinkelhaus | Ein Haus reist um die Welt

Rockin´ History 2014 | Project "Malerwinkelhaus"

Am 17.06.2014 veröffentlichte Roland Halbritter, Kultur- und Kunsthistoriker aus Nüdlingen (Deutschland) den Mail Art Call "Malerwinkelhaus: A picturesque place and the hot spot of the sightseeing buildings in town where lots of artists and photographers have found their iconic view on this very special frame house. Your interpretation of this house will also be appreciated for an exhibition in 2015. All Mail Art will become part of the collection of the Museum."

Meinen Beitrag "Rockin´ History" habe ich auf der Postkarte meines Gemälde "MOOrock vs. Barock" kreiert und zu Roland Halbritter nach Germany geschickt.

Dokumentation No. 20

RIVOLUZIONE E LIBERTA’ | Mail Art

Februar 2015 in Rom (Italien)

I ♥ Hahnemühle PastellFix

© MOO | Monika Mori

It was a great pleasure to be chosen as one of 30 artists to work with the new paper called PastellFix

When I opened the envelope from Hahnemühle and took the sheets of PastellFix I could feel a velvety surface, what an amazing vibe! There was need to start properly working with pastels. The image shows the result - The Eye :)

We were asked to send the paintings to Hahnemühle  and to write a few words about our experience with PastellFix. What a task! As an emotional person it´s always a challenge to find the right words, to draft fact-bounded ;)

© Hahnemühle
What a surprise!

I managed very well - my statement has been released!

"The velvety looking surface is a totally new haptic experience and your chalk pastels seem to just dance across it. Working with this high quality paper is thoroughly enjoyable right from the start," says artist Monika Mori enthusiastically.

Due to unknown reasons I´ve acted too rarely with this medium and during working I promised myself to do this more often in the future and exclusively on this base coat!

Mail Art Show - What’s your view?

Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts

I´m part of yet another wonderful and great organized Mail-Art-Project:

Mary England and Erika Kim Milenkovic have been selected to do an exhibit at the Top Of The World Observatory at the Baltimore, Maryland World Trade Center. I took the chance to share my views of the world and with the world through mail art, alongside other global participants.

Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts:
"The Top of the World Observation Level at the World Trade Center in Baltimore is a place where locals, tourists, 360- degree views, and postcards come together. In this one of a kind exhibition, England and Milenkovic create a diverse and democratic installation of over 150 pieces of art sent through the mail like a postcard, created by artists of all ages, skill levels, and locations. The goal is to encourage art makers and art viewers alike to be curious, reflective, and aware of their own views and those of others, all while enjoying a spectacular view of Baltimore."

Here you can see how Mary England and Erika Kim Milenkovic prepared the submissions for the exhibition.
What a lot of work!

Mary England: "Erika and I are so grateful to all the participants from this exhibit. We absolutely could not have done this without you,"

And what an honor, to be chosen out of more than 200 pieces by Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts as announcement for the opening reception!

Thank you so much girls
